Student Council

The Carden School Student Council of 2008-2009 has accomplished many of their goals. We completed many successful drives and fundraisers. Our Canned food drive was the most successful of our drives. With the help of the parents and the students, we donated more than 500 canned food items to the less fortunate. We also donated over 30 turkeys to families who did not have the available funds to buy food for Thanksgiving dinner. Our second most successful drive was our Easter Basket Drive. We donated over 40 baskets to the Mustard Seed School. We also held a toy drive and a coat and blanket drive. One of our most successful accomplishments this year was our recycling program. Throughout the year, we collected recyclable bottles and cans and gave them to recycling centers to earn money.

As council president, I would like to thank many people who helped us through the year. First, I would like to thank the sixth grade for all their help in making banners, sorting the recyclables, and collecting the donations from the classrooms. Second, I would like to thank Mrs. Roberts for the making of our flyers and updating our CSSC accounts. Finally, I would like to thank Mrs. Pillay for everything she has done. Without her, there would not be a student council. She made all the phone calls; she helped organize many fundraisers and drives. I will take everything I learned from this experience and use it in the future.
