Spring Activities!

Combined with year end field trips, our Open House, the Science Fair, the Book Fair and French Culture Day, every one of the students has been challenged.

I ask the children to continue performing at their highest level and enjoy coming to school each day.  During assemblies in the morning, the children and I talk about keeping their parents informed of the many activities coming up on our calendar.  Click here for our annual calendar.

Our next big event is the Eighth Grade Graduation followed by Field Day.  The children are rehearsing for graduation in their classrooms and with Mrs. Frey.  Please be sure to read the flyers we send home and communicate with your child about the important dates and times for these events.  Also, if you would like to volunteer to help at Field Day on June 4th, please sign up on the bulletin board in front of the office.

Community service, our campus activities and sporting events continue to provide topics for student contributions to our web pages.  Please visit and enjoy the articles and photographs submitted by students in the “News from Students” section.  As our web site continues to expand, student work will become a larger part of the pages, with photos contributed by parents always appreciated.  Have a wonderful tour through our site.

Enrollment for the 2008-09 school year continues to increase, and some classes are almost full.  If you know of families who may still wish to join our school community please remind them to call the school as soon as possible, since space is limited.  Remember, tours are scheduled daily in the morning and early afternoon by calling the school office, or by contacting us with this form.

Our campus is especially beautiful this time of the year.  Many plants and trees are blooming, and Mr. Joe has been busy around campus pruning roses and other plants, trimming trees, fertilizing and raking leaves.  Everything is looking beautiful, Mr. Joe!

I would like to take this time and place to thank each and every one of you for your continued support for Carden School of Sacramento.  The Carden School Spring Concert and Family Pot Luck was successful because our students, their parents and the staff each gave their time and talents to ensure a perfectly fun event.  Mrs. Frey and our students did a fantastic job.  Thank you to everyone who purchased wishing wells and advertising in the yearbook.  Be sure to stop by the office and turn in your Yearbook Order Forms.

Also, a special thank you goes to the Parent’s Club Board members and all of our Carden parents who worked so hard toward a successful school year.  If you did not get a chance to nominate officers for the 2008-09 Board, please stop by the office and do so.  Next years officers will be announced at graduation.

Speaking about graduation, be sure to join us at Sacramento First Church of the Nazarene for our annual graduation performance on June 3, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.  Our students have been working very hard on their tribute to the eighth grade graduates, so come and show your support.

Finally parents, as final testing begins, please remember to provide that quiet, well lit desk at home for the increased workload.
